Next week the Church celebrates the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross and the memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. This pair of feast days is especially important to us in the Dominican Healthcare Ministry, who in the care of the sick meet Christians carrying their own cross and families who stand by the cross like Our Lady.
In the Church of St. Catherine we will offer a novena dedicated to the sick and their families from September 8 – September 15, with prayers at each Mass and a special intention book at the Altar of the Holy Cross.
On September 14 and 15 there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 11:30am-4:30pm.

Please remember to pray for the sick, the dying, and their families. In particular, I would like to invite you to join us in Adoration on September 14 and 15, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
Novena Prayer for the Exultation of the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows from September 8 – 15:
Virgin of all virgins, look upon my need. Let me share in your compassion for all who suffer, and let me offer my sufferings on their behalf. Thus may we bear the image of your Son’s crucified love. Amen.
